My tips for health and exercise!

8/30/09

- played dodgeball for about 20 min

Tip:

Don’t play dodgeball on carpet barefoot, it leaves blisters

8/19/09 Day 45

- ate a large bag of movie popcorn, drank some soda

- ate a lot of meat

- ate at souplantation for dinner, ate 2 and a half plate of broccoli! so good!

- I can palm a basketball with each hand!

Today was ok, the bad part was the popcorn!

Tip:

- Increase your grip strength by squeezing something squeezable, like a tennis ball.

- Gain more jump by strengthening your toe muscles, just keep curling your toes when you can.

7/30/09 Day 25

- ate 2 pieces of see’s candies…
- ate at Ruby Tuesday with Eric! RIBEYE YES!
- ate pretty healthy today, took in a lot of meat!
- Ran 3 miles with Frank, from his house to Royal Vista!

Tip:

- Learned today that we should be eating some fat in our daily diet, the healthy ones!
Today was a great day!

7/27/09 Day 22

- played basketball this morning with Brian and Abraham, 2 hours

- played sports for about 2 hours at pathfinder park, tennis.

- Ate at souplantation today for lunch.

Today was a great day! Got in a lot of exercise, while also eating really healthy!

Tip:

- Sleeping a lot to heal your body is ok!

7/26/09 Day 21

- played sports for about 3 hours! It was fun :]

- had the most intense game of basketball in my life so far!

- Ran a lap around Los Alto’s field with Kevin.

- ate pretty healthy! Maybe the meat for lunch was oily, but oh well.

Today was a great day! I need to work on my stamina!

Tip:

- We need to get at least some cardio (heart) exercise daily, or your stamina will decrease with just a few days with no exercise.

7/25/09 Day 20

- Spent the whole day, 9-7pm, helping Eric move

- Ate half an Albertson’s sandwiche for breakfast, 4 pizza slices for lunch, and noodles and meat at guppy’s house for dinner.

- Also ate 2 bowls of shaved ice with mixed fruit at Guppy’s.

Today was a great day! Sweated so much, and carried a lot of things in this heat. It was fun! Great workout :]

Tip:

- Drink a lot of water before, during, and after workout. Drink water throughout the entire day, it helps our body clean itself and function. When you drink the water during exercises, drink in big gulps so your body can quickly absorb the water, verses small gulps, in which your body slowly takes the water in. With your body slowly taking in the water, you are more likely to have acid from your stomach come out and burn while you are exercising.

- Drink water in moderate amounts during exercise, or you will get waterlogged. Drinking as much water as you want throughout the day is fine, as long as you are not forcing yourself.

7/24/09 Day 19

- Biked to Paolo’s house and back

- biked with him and his friend Tommy while they were longboarding, about 1 hour

- ate popcorn chicken and drank peach slush at quickly. Also drank lipton green tea green apple flavor.

Biking is so hard! My thighs aren’t sore, but they could not continue peddaling uphill… Today I was taller and many people noticed, because I guess I stopped slouching. I need to remember to stand up tall from now on. TAI2 TOU2 TING3 XIONG4 ! the numbers the the degree for the Chinese pinyins, the sound.

Tip:

- Always keep your body posture correct throughout the entire day, especially during exercise, so you will be less likely to have an injury, and also have less ‘knots’ in your body.

- Be sure to stretch 5 minutes after exercise begins ( stretching with cold muscles may cause injury) and also after you are done exercising. It helps the blood flow into those muscles, in which your body will heal faster.

7/23/09 Day 18

-Did no exercise

- Ate 2 hamburgers today, a whopper and an in-n-out burger. Also downed 2 well done fries from in-n-out

Things are going bad for me, healthwise. Mentalitywise though, I am very happy XD

Tip:

- If you eat all healthy, nasty things, your body may be really great but your mind is really sad from not being able to eat junk food. It is ok to splurge on your favorite foods while doing your workout, just don’t indulge too much, just enough to satisfy yourself.

7/22/09 Day 17

- Ate a lot of healthy food today, and also took in a lot of calories!
- did some sit-ups, and 2 pushups
I played big 2 with my brother today, and I owe 68 push ups, yet I could barely do one 0_0

What is wrong! gahhhhhhhhhh

Tip:

- When you exercise, be sure to know your limits. If you can run 7 miles before your body starts cramping, only run three. Exercise enough that your body can heal in a day or two. When you exercise yourself to death, you are actually not advancing as fast, if you need longer than a week to heal off all the sore muscles.

7/20/09 Day 15

Health:

- Ate a lot of healthy food today, and also took in a lot of calories! Thanks Eric for the chicken!

- played sports today! 2 hours

Still sore, but should be better tomorrow.

Tip:

- Protein is an important nutrient you need to heal and grow your muscles. Chicken, tuna, and soybean foods (tofu, soymilk, soy chicken?) are all great sources of protein!
